Thai press: Vietnam doesn’t want King’s Cup title

Thể Thao 247 - Thai press assumes that Vietnam NT is not interested in being champion of King’s Cup, but to test its formation.

After refusing the invitation from FAT, VFF has decided to summit Vietnam NT join King’s Cup 2019. This is the second time after 13 years Vietnam has come back to this Thai annual Jockey club Championship. However, Thai media thought that Vietnam was not enthusiastic about it.

Siam Sport wrote: “Vietnam NT will participate in this 47th King’s Cup. They will bright their strongest team as King’s Cup kicks off on FIFA Day. The result will affect their place in FIFA rankings.

However, their goal is not to win, even they have no interest in it. They consider King’s Cup as a place to experiment their tactics and formation ahead of World Cup Qualifiers”.

King’s Cup 2019 will be held on this June with the participations of Thailand, Vietnam, India, and Curacao. Mr park Hang-seo’s side’s opponent is Curacao, a country from Caribbean region.

Curacao is currently on 82nd place in FIFA rankings. This team had its first national match on August 2011, in which they suffered a minimum lost to Dominica. Curacao, with quite a young team, was placed 68th in FIFA rankings on July 2017.
